Beekeeping corner

From 2011 we installed ten bee hives on the ACTIV centre to investigate the development of beekeeping in Vanuatu. 

In 2016 we received funding from the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the French Embassy in Vanuatu under the Fonds Pacifique program to scale up the beekeeping in Vanuatu testing the new technology developed by Flow hives with their honey on tap hives. The aim of this project is to demonstrate that;
- bees can improve the pollinisation
- honey can be a source of income for the communities
- and honey is a good alternative for white sugar causing NC disease in Vanuatu
