Handicraft Centre

From October 4th 2014, the Handicraft Centre is opened six days a week for visits. Come and meet the producers of wonderful handicrafts and fine carvings who have come from all over Vanuatu to show you their products.
Handicrafts provide as one of the key sources of income for many communities in Vanuatu. We saw this as a good economic opportunity for disadvantaged communities that may not yet have access to learning new skills or a market to sell their products.
At the Handicraft Centre, we hold workshops where local people from around Vanuatu can share their skills in producing handicrafts and carvings, which they can then sell themselves at ACTIV, or we can sell on their behalf. We also hold open information sessions in partnership with other organisations where we discuss issues such as good governance, reproductive health and women's rights.
For visitors, our AELAN shop is open for those who are interested in purchasing local products made by the local communities and the small scale producers from the island of the archipelago of Vanuatu. Contact us for more information.
